Pine Knot is a 2006 Kadey-Krogen 44' Classic Trawler Yacht. She is hull #8 of the new 44's. Pine Knot's styling is based on the popular Kadey-Krogen 42'.
Over her 15 years of production life, ending in 1995, 206 of the 42's were built. Most all the 206 must still be on the water since we see them everywhere we go. The Kadey-Krogen 42 is a much sought after boat and has achieved the status of a true classic.

The Kadey-Krogen 44 is offered in the standard walkaround-layout or the optional widebody-layout . Pine Knot is a widebody. While the walkaround version has side decks on both sides of the boat, in the widebody version, the portside saloon wall extends to the full beam width of the boat. This adds much more room in the saloon. Another feature we enjoy with the widebody version is improved access to the flybridge from the pilot house. Just a few steps aft of the pilot house portside door, a short ladder leads right up to the flybridge.
I will again refer you to the Kadey-Krogen Website for detailed info about the Kadey-Krogen 44, including photos, specifications, and virtual tours. The article, "Life is Good on the Krogen 44," by Bill Parlatore--from the June 2005 issue of PassageMaker Magazine--is a great, in depth review of our 44.
